Why dental caries[decay] is most prevelent disease in world?
Because they don't connect decay or periodontal disease with severe health problems or death. They don't understand that there have been links with these problems and other severe problems.
Reply:Everyone has teeth and many people in many countries don't have the resources(water, toothbrushes, paste) to do good oral care.
Reply:You are absolutely correct decay on hte teeth is the most prevalent disease in the world second to the simple common cold and I will tell you why. There is mounting evidence that links poor oral hygiene to a range of both dental and medical insurance being expensive and limited to what it will cover, not to mention the co-payments and deductibles. Because this is many, many people about 40% to be exact, do not see their dentist every six months like advised by dentist. The dentist do not recommend this just to check your teeth, but to clean your teeth, also the flouride they use to apply on your teeth to prevent tooth decay - this is a mineral that strenghtens tooth enamal, there are dental sealants, clear plastic coatings that get brushed onto the chewing surfaces of molors, remove the build up of calculus, or tartor, which forms when plaque - a sticky film of bacteria that hardens on the teeth, as they feed on sugar, food residu on the teeth and the bacteria produce acids without going to the dentist every 6 months the acids begin to eat away the enamel off your teeth as if you were bulimic. Once this proccess begins thats how cavities get started. A cavity is a hole in the tooth. Going to the dentist allows them to emphasize treatment that prevent oral healthcare problems such as decay. Although health plans have begun to cover more treatments/preventative services. Dental providing good oral healthcare is especially in pregnant woman simply because pregnant woman can pass effects of many different things to the unborn child. There are many colleges that offer help to those who don't have enough money to see a dentist, they charge mostly nothing and It gives students the opportunity to practice (and step by step there will be an actual dentist with a licence there watching to make sure things are done right.

A DENTAL CHECK-UP INCLUDES AS FOLLOWED:

X-ray of the teeth

physical exeminations - which to a dentist means looking for tooth decay (cavity)

IF A CAVITY IS FOUND:

a high drill is used to remove the decayed part of the tooth

then the cavity will be filled with gold, porcelin, plasticor amalgam. Amalgam is a mixture of silver and mercury - which I sseriously do not recommend since mercury is very toxic and can cause many problems some less severe than others. Some permanant like alzheimers, tissue damage in the brain, severe organ damage, and your teeth eventually rot off. Mercury pollutes your bloodstream with poison. (it contains a very high amount of toxins.) Local anesthesia is usually used when filling a cavity. They use novocain (procain), lidocaine (xylocaine.) These both work by just simply numbing the area that is going to be worked on.

ROOT CANALS:

root canals are neccesary when a cavity is left unprotected and has reached the interior of a tooth, this is called the pulp area and that is the cause of pain and infection. If that is left untreated then you can develop meningitis because the infection will have gone into the blood stream. With a root canal, what it consists of is removing the pulp, replace it with artificial materiall, and a cemented crown (a tooth like cap made of plastic, porcelain, or gold onto the damaged proof.
