I have almost lost my first molar because of tooth decay... Can it be fixed?

There is almost mothing left in place of my first molar? Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Like root canal or something?

There are a number of factors involved in deciding if your molar is fixable. Depending on the level of decay and other factors, it may be savable with a root canal, but would also probably need crown lengthening (a surgical procedure that removes gum tissue to expose more of the tooth) and it would definitely need a post and build up (to give it strength) and finally a crown.

You need to realize that this will be a very expensive tooth if it is savable. Your best bet would be to see your dentist regularly to prevent this from happening again. If you do end up having it extracted, you should seriously consider some sort of replacement for it...whether a bridge or an implant (if you're a candidate. Otherwise, the teeth on either side of it will drift in towards the empty space and can cause future problems.
Reply:No, you can not have it fixed. I only know this because it's happened to me twice. All the dentist can do is pull it. You can always get a replacement tooth. They have temporary ones that hook on to your other teeth, and then they have permanent replacement teeth that they screw into your jaw. I recommend the latter.
Reply:did you discuss with dentist?
Reply:Get some enamel care toothpaste, builds teeth up or melt some calcium tablets on the tooth.
