Teeth decay?

i was eating carrot cake and suddenly i thought i chewed on something hard like stone, only to realise that it is actually part of my teeth, the one beside the wisdom tooth. now left half a tooth only! how? before this part of my teeth came off, i was having pain like sensitive teeth, now i dont feel the pain anymore? what does it mean? anyone knows?

Teeth decay?
Decay (cavities) don't always hurt and for that reason you don't always know that you have one. You could have had decay or you may have just had a fracture of the tooth that eventually caused the breakage. I have had patients tell me that they had a "sensitive" tooth that when looked at with an xray shows no problem only to later have the tooth fracture which brings relief. Either way I would recommend having a dentist evaluate it to determine the cause and restore it if needed.

Hope that helps!

Reply:Proper dental hygiene makes a person feel well through out the day. Brushing the teeth daily two times helps in keeping the dental diseases at bay. Dental hygiene is of utmost important for everyone. Choosing a proper paste and brush is very important as it helps in fighting cavities and germs in the teeth. Toothbrush should be changed at least every 4-5 months.
