How do you know if you have tooth decay?

What are the signs?

How do you know if you have tooth decay?
The answer is you might know and you might not know. Let me explain... You can have decay (cavities) with no pain or sensitivity, which tend to be the most common signs. You might also see the tooth, or in between the teeth looking gray. You might suspect you have decay if you have these signs. All of these signs can be related to something else though. The best way to minimize the likelihood of having an undiscovered problem is to see your dentist or hygienist on a regular basis and have cavity checking xrays every 12 - 18 months.

Reply:All tooth decay is, is a rotting tooth, a cavity. You will see a hole in your tooth or your tooth hurts really bad when you bite or chew or even doing nothing. If it hurts and you can't see anything, get to a dentist before it becomes absessed which ends you up in the hospital. The dentist will find the cavity and fill it up. You should go to the dentist especially when you find the hole, or cavity.
Reply:Go to the dentist at least once a year for a checkup. They will take x-rays and give you a visual inspection and check for cavities. You should also have your teeth cleaned at least twice a year. This will reduce plaque and tartar which build up on your teeth around the gums and in between the teeth. The cleaning will remove all of this and prevent cavities and gum disease which, left unchecked, can cause your teeth to fall out while giving you terrible breath in the meantime.
