What can be done to help prevent tooth decay?
Eat and drink sugar-containing things less often.
Use fluoride toothpaste.
Exercise good oral hygiene.
Vist your dentist regularly.
These 4 steps will help - good oral hygiene alone will not!
The first step is the most critical. A common misconception is that if you brush more often you can eat/drink sugary stuff as much as you like. That's total crap.
Reply:brush your teeth regularly 2-3 times/day (more can cause errosion on the dentin) with a flouride toothpaste, floss, limit sweets -esp. chewy sweets, and visit a dentist for regular cleanings if your budget permits. once decay starts, there is no way to prevent without professional dental intervention.
