How long does it take for a tooth to decay?

I lost a crown to the remaining tooth is ground down and vulnerable. How long before it suffers damage?

Your tooth will get infected very quickly. Underneath that crown it's been shrouded from the big mean world of your bacteria-infested mouth and will be more brittle than usual now. Not only will it become infected soon but will also probably chip or break.
Reply:It all depends on how long you neglect the situation. A cavity keeps getting bigger and eventually will hit the nerve of the tooth. If is small take care of it now before gets bigger.
Reply:it could be a week or a few years but u really should see a dentist to get it sorted before you get in any pain
