Do Tums or other anti acids have ingredients that promote tooth decay.?

I take anti acid tablets at night.

Will this rot my teeth?

sugar.. they all contain some form of sugar, which.. yes.. will rot your teeth if you dont brush afterwords
Reply:Tums have sugar in them and, in my experience, stick in the molars. You should brush your teeth right before bed after taking in anything other than plain water. Any type of food or drink that stays in your mouth overnight, even in small quantities, promotes tooth decay.
Reply:just the opposite...many contain calcium..which strengthens teeth and bones. Remember its not sugar that rots your teeth, but its the acids that form when the sugar is broken down by enzymes in your mouth.
Reply:The only thing I can think of is check the lable and see if there is any sugar or any other tooth decayer.
