Can someone please help me with my childs tooth decay problems?

I need some advice instead of the sit back there's nothing you can do.

My child doesn't drink milk, he doesn't eat alot, and he luvs juice. Brushes teeth once a day and he is 2.

Now based on that above just throw out all your advice to stop his four top front teeth from decaying. Please help.

I once heard that your meant to wait at least half an hour after drinking juice before cleaning your teeth because juice softens the tooth enamel. Also try making him drink sugary drinks and juices with a straw to avoid the liquids coming into contact with his teeth :)
Reply:They have people who specialize in this sort of thing. I believe they're called dentists.
Reply:Make him eat and drink milk.

No more juice/candy/soda.

Take him to a freakin dentist.
Reply:Juice is high in sugar,

sugarless gum is better than excessive abrasion

Drink milk, and eat green leafy vegetables.

Decay could be from infection -- some kids lose their first set of teeth to severe rot.
Reply:Calm down and relax, he is quite fine and the teeth you are soo very concerned over are only his first set. Many children have first sets that are rotten, but their permanents often tend to come out perfectly fine. I would not be concerned over the first set of teeth, no matter how they are, plus it sounds like he takes care of what he has (brushes daily).
Reply:take the juice, throw it out.

never buy juice again.

if your 2year old is thirsty, he'll drink water. if he'd rather have juice or nothing, let him have nothing until he decides on water.

juice is going to destroy his teeth. it's so high in sugar and acidity it's not funny.

what he needs is water and or milk. he doesn't drink milk, so water is the winner.

perhaps you can replace bought juice with make it yourself juice with a juicer and fresh fruit. DO NOT ADD SUGAR. straight watermellon juice is yum by the way. and then always wash his mouth with water after drinking it.

if you get in the habit of washing his mouth with water after he eats or drinks anything it will seriously help with decay.

calcium is a wonderful thing for tooth strength. look into different types of milk. he may love goats milk and hate cows milk for example. try yogurt and cheese.

next step is the dentist. talk to the dentist about having his adult teeth sealed. when they come through (when he's much older) you can have them sealed against decay, this will help protect his teeth. some of us are just born with decay-likely teeth, so you just have to make the most of it.
