Tooth decay near gumline??

Hi, my dentist said I have too many cavities near the gumline and I just don't eat much sugar or drink sugary sodas. He thinks I need some kind of acid reflux test to see if thats causing the premature decay - what kind of tests do I need? thank you!

Tooth decay near gumline??
Testing for Acid Reflux Disease

--------------------------------------...

Depending on your doctor's diagnosis and the severity of your symptoms, your doctor may recommend certain tests to see if and how much damage has been done, such as:

Upper GI endoscopy – your doctor slides a lighted, flexible tube called an endoscope (en-duh-scohp) into your esophagus; there's a tiny camera in the endoscope so the doctor can see whether anything is wrong with the surface of your esophagus.

Barium swallow radiograph (upper GI series) – a chalky liquid (Barium) is swallowed and x-rays are taken to determine damage.

24-hour pH monitoring (also called ambulatory pH monitoring) – your doctor inserts a very small monitoring device in your esophagus; it will stay there for 24 hours while you go about your everyday activities. The pH monitor records how much acid comes into your esophagus – and how often – while you keep a diary or log of when you have acid reflux disease symptoms. Your doctor compares the pH monitor's record of acid reflux with your record of symptoms to see whether they match.
Reply:You can go to your primary care physician and have them check you out for acid reflux disease.
Reply:also brushing and flossing might help after every meal or anything sticky. Hope this helps.
Reply:are you brushing and flossing 2 to 3 times a day, maybe it's from plaque buildup that isn't being removed properly
Reply:I think Jan is right.

I see most people with gumline decay aren't brushing at the umm gumline.

Get a power tooth brush and over lap it on the gums.
