Can indigestion lead to tooth decay or tooth problems?

I have been having poor digestion lately. Acid comes back up my stomach and into my esophagus. I get a very bitter taste in my mouth even only a few hours of brushing and rinsing. Its really bad in the morning. Iam getting concerned about my teeth because of this. Can this cause problems for my teeth? Antacids dont always work for my stomach but I do use them from time to time.

Can indigestion lead to tooth decay or tooth problems?
Esophageal reflux is a well know culprit in erosion of teeth. We recommend a medication that helps prevent reflux as a preventive for tooth damage. Also, antacids often have sugar associated with them (tums) Stick with Rolaids which has an artificial sweetner
Reply:Yes, gastic juice in your mouth repeatedly could definitely cause tooth decay. Just make sure you rinse your mouth out as soon as possible when it happens. Drinking milk immediately would help too, and it would protect your esophagus.
Reply:teeth erosion, usually at the neck of all your teeth because the enamel is the thinnest. It cal later lead to pulp exposure %26amp; pain. What ever filling you do will not stand if your acidity is not corrected. May be you are having H pyloric infection, take a course of antibiotics %26amp; antacids. Your gastro. will know better.

Amox 250mg+omaprizol %26amp; Tindazol, 3 times a day for 1 week.
