Does tooth decay hurts?

When tooth decay hurts, the nerve of the tooth has already been affected by the decay. It is always best to see your dentist every 6 months for an exam and cleaning, and hopefully most of the time, decay will be found before it starts to even hurt.

Does tooth decay hurts?
yes it will hurt if it reaches the roots of your teeth
Reply:If you've never had a killer tooth-ache, no one can define it for you.

Its the most miserable pain I've ever had.

Of course, I've never been through child-birth... so...

ahem.. I digress.
Reply:well some time it can hurt if you ignor it
Reply:Sometimes it can hurt and sometimes it will not. What it depends on is how deep the decay is. If it is into the dentin/cementin layer or into the pulp of the tooth it will hurt, but it the decay is just in the enamel it probably won't bother you.
Reply:Not always in the beginning stages. After awhile, you may notice some hot, cold or sugar sensitivity. Eventually, if it gets bad enough it will. But just because it doesn't hurt yet doesn't mean it's not there
Reply:yap..

but it depends on the size and depth of the decay..

if it is just a minor one.. u might feel pain when eating especially sweet food..

if it is deep..reaching the innest part of the tooth(pulp) where the nerves lie..then u will be having pain that is so much that it will even disturb ur sleep.
Reply:yeah if it gets to the roots,

and then it could get infected and then you have a mess!
