Slow the speed of tooth decay?

I think i have a cavity. Not really sure cause i have braces and its blocking the view. I'm getting them off in about 4 months or so then i will go for a dental exam. The last thing i would want to do is to take off my braces then putting them back on! Just in case i do have a cavity, how do i slow down the rate in which it eats through my tooth? My tooth doesnt even hurt yet...

Slow the speed of tooth decay?
brush your teeth and use floride
Reply:Penguin - your orthodontist is a DENTIST! At your next visit tell him you have a cavity and let him decide what needs to be done.

In the meantime, use hydrogen peroxide after brushing to kill the bacteria that live in your mouth and cause cavities. Every morning and before bed after brushing and flossing use Hydrogen Peroxide instead of your regular mouth wash. You can buy hydrogen peroxide (3% in the brown bottle) at your local drugstore for about $2 for a 32 ounce bottle. Mix ½ ounce hydrogen peroxide with ½ ounce hot water and swirl in your mouth for about 1 minute (hydrogen peroxide is tasteless but it FOAMS). Spit out (DO NOT SWALLOW) and then rinse your mouth out several times with cool water. A 32 ounce bottle will last about one month.
