Will a decay tooth decay again after filled?

i have a cavity few years back %26amp; i got it filled by the dentist during my school days.

Recently, my tongue can feel something like a hole on that that tooth. I dun know what's happening...

Will a decay tooth decay again after filled?
yes, it can
Reply:Yes, teeth can decay if not properly cared for even after a filling. They may need to be refilled.
Reply:Yes, it happened to me, you'll have to get that part of the tooth filled also.
Reply:Yes if all the decay is not removed or if the filling develops a leak, it is also possible that the tooth is decaying in another area-a fresh cavity on the same tooth.
Reply:same here the dentist left half my tooth and gave me a gold filling over half of it but the half a tooth is now crumbling. you need to go back to dentist
Reply:The tooth should be fine if all the decay was removed. However you could have a new cavity in the same tooth.

Don't forget to brush, floss and visit the dentist.
Reply:Part of the filling may have come out without you knowing it, then more decay starts
Reply:the filling material may have started chipping, and if there is any opening in the filling bacteria will re-enter and can start the decaying process again. Worse than that a nerve could get exposed and the pain will be unbearable, you would than need a root canal done(was the best thing ever created,I had to have one,no pain from root canal, just time consuming)so go see your dentist before it gets to far along and keep tongue out of it.
Reply:if a tooth has a caries and you filled with any filling after a time short or long it may become caries

why

because another focus of caries appears or there is leakage between the old filling and the tooth substance which will harb the food and the caries starts again to prevent this you have to cover all the tooth with acrown
Reply:You might have developed another cavity or your filling might have chipped. Sometimes the fillings have been there so long that they can get worn down and will need to be replaced. I had a filling that chipped and the dentist had to take the whole filling out (which was not a very nice experience) and then replace it again with a new filling. You should go to the dentist to see whats going on before it gets worse.
Reply:yes, there is still your tooth around that filling so the rest of he tooth can still decay, you just get a bigger filling
Reply:chew on some aluminum foil! will clear right up. Promise!
Reply:Yes, tooth will still decay but it takes a longer time mah.
