Do artificial sweeteners promote tooth decay faster than real sugar?

I was raised using artificial sweeteners when I drink tea, and I still use them to this day. Do they decay your teeth faster than regular sugar?

Do artificial sweeteners promote tooth decay faster than real sugar?
to the best of my knowledge no they do not.

sugar does because it actually creates bad bacteria in your mouth which eats at the enamel of your teeth.

i have heard if you have eaten stuff with sugar in it and let's say you cannot brush your teeth, eat some dairy products like cheese, or drink some milk. those actually kill the bad effects of the bacteria that the sugar had created in your mouth. but obviously brushing with a good toothpaste would be best.
