Do night guards promote tooth decay?

I have a custom made hard night guard that fits snuggly over my teeth. It seems that when I wear it I wake up with a slightly sour taste in my mouth. I think this is due to the lack of circulation of saliva? Anywhoo, could this type of night guard promote tooth decay?

As long as your brushing two times a day and flossing once a day, you should be fine. I wake up with the awful flavor too, but I've never had a problem.

Reply:I would recommend, not only brushing your teeth before and after, but brush your night guard as well, don't use a mouthwash in it tough, t contains alcohol and will dry out the plastic that guard made of. Just use your too thrush and toothpaste.
