I have done a lot of research and found that many articles have been written on the link between Albuterol usuage and rapid tooth decay especially in infants and young children (this caused by the side effect of dry mouth) Has anyone read similar studies/articles or had a suspicion about this and /or actuall experience like this?
Do asthma medicines contribute to tooth decay?
I have also looked into this. They do warn you to rinse your mouth after use of inhalers, I thought it was because they can cause mouth ulcers and a sore throat, but I too have also susoected that they could lead to tooth decay. My daughter uses her preventer medication morning and night and she rinses her mouth out after each one of those doses, hopefully this will have prevented any kind of tooth damage :))
Reply:I use a steroid inhaler, Flovent, and it says to rinse the mouth after every use.
